What God Has Been Teaching Me Lately XXXI (31)…
Greetings My Friends~
As a simple pilgrim following Jesus through the rainforests and deserts of this earthly life,
I would like to humbly share some of what God has been bubbling up in my mind/heart lately.
I pray that these thoughts are cushions in your shoes, balm to your burns, umbrellas for the rain,
and shade to the scorching heat as you too follow the Lord Jesus each day.

- Prayer
God, when You give me heels from the loaf of life,
please help me to thank You & rejoice that I have bread to eat (Philippians 4:11-13).
In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
- Created By God
God knit each human when He created each of us (Psalm 139:13-14)!
Knitting is slow, personal, hands-on, deliberate, meticulous—we are LOVED!
- God’s Rules
A. Jesus’ commands don’t restrict life but open it up;
His Way isn’t a tightrope but a highway,
not for tiptoeing but for running (Psalm 119:32)!
.
B. Jesus’ way = running on a track not walking on eggshells!
“I run in the path of your commands—you have broadened my understanding” (Psalm 119:32).
- The Bible
A. Maybe we need spiritual vitamin C
less from pills (Christian authors) and
more from fresh oranges (God’s Word).
.
B. A Bible teacher’s job isn’t to make the Bible “come alive”—it’s already alive! (Hebrews 4:12-13)
We need the Holy Spirit to help our listeners come alive…
- God’s Love
Jesus’ love surpasses our ability to fully understand it (Ephesians 3:16-21),
but that doesn’t mean that we cannot understand it at all;
all of a bathtub can fit in the ocean
but all of the ocean cannot fit in a bathtub.
Yet, if we only believe/accept the parts of Jesus’ love that we can understand,
we ultimately miss out on so much,
like only playing in a bathtub
when God wants to teach us to surf His oceanic tidal waves of grace and Truth.
- Sin
Dont just say “no” to sin;
say “yes” to Jesus,
just as it’s easier to not eat junk food
with a belly full of veggies
than with an empty stomach (Matthew 12:43-45).
- Prayer
Prayer is not us bringing God to us so we can control Him;
prayer is God bringing us to Himself so He can transform us.
.
Humbly,
SoulSpartan
