What God Has Been Teaching Me Lately XXIV…

Maturing (3-10-15)

Greetings My Friends~

As a humble pilgrim following Jesus through the rainforests and deserts of this earthly life, I would like to humbly share some of what God has been bubbling up in my mind/heart lately.

I pray that these thoughts are cushions in your shoes, balm to your burns, umbrellas for the rain, and shade to the scorching heat as you too follow the Lord Jesus each day.

  1. Grace

Though Jesus wasn’t handsome (Isaiah 53:2), He paid your ransom (Matthew 20:28).
Receive Him today…say “YES!” to Jesus…

  1. Evangelism

Lord Jesus, please forgive me for passing out Lincolns (pennies)
when You have given me the Benjamins of Your love & grace. Teach me…
(2 Corinthians 9:11)

  1. Sin & Grace

When we sin, we turn God’s glory into shame (Psalm 4:2).
When we accept Jesus’ death as payment for our sins, He turns our shame into glory

(2 Corinthians 4:13-15).

  1. Suffering

You may not often “feel” God’s comfort; pain is often a numbing agent to His love.
But His love IS there, not because you feel it, but because He says it is (Jeremiah 31:3).

  1. Lent

Lent is not about what I’m giving up but pursuing Him Who gave up everything for me!

  1. Worship

Fuel for worship is remembering Jesus’ death for you.
Psalm71:23: “My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to You—I, whom You have delivered.”

  1. Sin

With Jesus, sin can knock us DOWN, but it can never knock us OUT.
“There’s now NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).

  1. Faith

Though it doesn’t LOOK like Spring,
Though it doesn’t FEEL like Spring,
It IS Spring…the calendar says so…

…Similarly, though it might not LOOK like God is real,
though it might not FEEL like God is real,
He IS real—His Word says so.

“I am God—there is none like Me” (Isaiah 46:8-9).

  1. Serving Others

We serve others not so God will love us more
but so others will know more how much God loves them.
(2 Corinthians 5:14-21)

  1. Re-Birth

In a root canal, a tooth’s pulp is removed
and the tooth is cleaned & made ready for filling
and the placing of a crown…

…Jesus offers us a soul-canal, where our soul’s sin is removed
and our soul cleaned & made ready for filling by the Holy Spirit
and the placing of a crown—declaring Jesus to be the King of our lives.

  1. Daily Life

When done for, through, and with Jesus, the mundane can be miraculous…(Romans 12:1-2).

  1. Excitement

Apart from Jesus Christ, we seek thrills from the things we do;
with Jesus Christ, we can receive thrills from Him with Whom we do things (John 10:10).

  1. Identity

Our identity is NOT tied to what we do for Jesus,
but rather to what Jesus has done for us on the cross (Galatians 3:26).

  1. Faith

Jesus didn’t say: “You will always be able to FEEL that I am with you.”
But He did say: “I WILL always be with you” (Matthew 28:20).

  1. Forgiveness

A. Yahweh’s bleach is Y’Shua’s (Jesus’) blood—He will clean you if you let Him.
“Because of Your great compassion blot out the stain of my sins”—Psalm 51:1

B. The only time God hides from a Christian is when He hides His face from our sins (Psalm 51:9).

  1. Joy

When we receive Jesus as our Savior, we cant lose HIM.
But we can lose our JOY in Him.

“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation” (Psalm 51:12).

.
Humbly,

SoulSpartan
